Okay so…day 11, what is my most proudest moment? Now most would say that a mother of three kids would say that is my most proudest moment or going back to school and getting a degree was. Although it was a wonderful gift and my greatest accomplishment all four times..I am going to tell you about a personal moment I had with myself.
So, my story started 25 years ago when I entered into the the workforce as a Retail and Sales Associate. I have worked for Boston Market, Marc’s Deeper Discount, Revco aka CVS Pharmacy part-time. My first full-time position was with Pepsi Beverages Company. After working so many part-time jobs for over 20 years, it was very hard for me to transition to 40 hours a week. I had to make this transition from being a part-time worker/full-time housewife and mother to a full-time working gal to support my family. My husband became disabled 8 years ago and was forced to stop working. I stepped up.
So I worked 40, 50, 60 and sometimes 70 hours a week to keep a roof over our heads, the lights on, food in our belly and still be able to save money on the side for emergency. I did this for 4 years straight all while going to school to get my business degree. One day we decided it was time to take that next step……
I bought us a home!!
When we received the keys to our very own home after renting for so long…I cried..it was my proudest moment!! Most people wait a life time to own their very own home long ago but to know that I was able to get this house after so much time, I couldn’t believe it. I was 38 years old and indeed very proud of taking care of my family. We have now been in Lakeland Florida for 4 years, I am now retired and am loving every minute of it!!
That’s all I have for you today until tomorrow guys, don’t forget to…
